JACKSON, Miss. — “Hard work and dedication will always pay off in the end,” About Being Motivated (ABM) dance and majorette team Coach Rhonda Meekins said.

Looks like she was right.

Coach Meekins and her performers have been soaking up the congratulations since Friday, when a long-awaited episode of Lifetime Network’s dance contest show, “Bring It” finally aired. Recorded four months ago in Jackson, Miss., results of the competition had to be kept secret until the big day, when fans and viewers across the nation learned how well the girls from Cambridge did.

Those watching saw the ABM girls take first place in the Stand Battle. They also won the Baby Trio, though that wasn’t shown.

“You have no idea how much they mean to me. Seeing us on “Bring It” had me so emotional,” Coach Meekins said in a written statement.

“I’m so happy it was a positive show and all the moms gave us props, even Mrs. D. When he said next round from Cambridge, Maryland, OMG, that was the best feeling ever. Thanks for all the love. Thanks for tuning in and watching us make history for ABM.”

Among the many comments praising the girls, Robbin Burke-Lake said on social media, “I am excited and so proud of these young ladies for going this far and doing something they enjoy. Congratulations, and thanks Rhonda Meekins and ABM, for all that you have done.”
