I read an article in a local newspaper on Dec. 29 by Steven Roberts, who writes columns, entitled “How Would Jesus Vote?” The Christians who read the article must look at that question very seriously and the platforms of the Republican and Democrat parties to see how they line up with God’s Word.
Here are some of the reasons why I, as an independent voter, cannot vote Democrat and then I will ask this question; What do you think Jesus would do?
I will vote for the most pro-life candidate because God hates the shedding of innocent blood.. Even though abortion is the law of the land it will always be wrong in God’s eyes. The murder of millions of unborn babies is never right.
I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate because God blesses those who bless Israel and curses them that don’t. [Gen. 12-3].
I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate because the borrower is a servant to the lender.
I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God said if a man will not work neither should he eat. [1 Thess. 3-10] Being in need is one thing, but living off the government when a person could be working is another thing.
The Great Society and all the free help were started in 1964 by President Johnson (D). Some needed help while others were helped because they did not like wearing work boots.
I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate because God is for marriage as defined in [Gen.2-24] A marriage between a man and a woman, not Adam and Steve.
Any nation or church that justifies any other marriage other than a man and woman as an excepted lifestyle is in its final stages of moral corruption. America is just about there!
I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government’s purpose is to reward good and punish evil I will vote for the candidate that will uphold the rule of law, not just the laws they want to enforce. The candidate must also be a person that upholds God’s laws .
I will vote close as I can on God’s Word. [2 Timothy 3-16] as should all professing Christians. Because as Christians we must uphold the truths that are ever so evident and always have been.
