TRAPPE - L. Richard "Rick" Perry Jr., 54, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007, at Talbot Hospice House, Easton.
Born Nov. 5, 1952, in Easton, he was the son of Judith Willis of Trappe, and the late Lawrence Richard Perry Sr. who died Feb. 12, 2000.
After attending Easton High School, he joined the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Salisbury State University, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in history. He then attended the University of Baltimore, where in 1990 he received his law degree. He practiced law in Talbot County until August 2006. For the last two years he was assistant state's attorney for Talbot County.
An avid golfer, he was a member of Hog Neck Golf Course. During his golfing career, he made two holes in one at the Easton Club. He was a loyal fan of the Ravens, Orioles and Navy. Rick was totally devoted to his children.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, the former Christina Stevens; three children, Lisa Moore and her husband, Alan of Seattle, Wash., Charles "Chuck" Perry and his wife, Tanya of Centreville, and Shannon Perry of Towson; a stepdaughter, Lily Sanford of Trappe; his stepmother, Ginny Mae Perry of Stevensvi11e; a brother, Jeffery W. Perry and his wife, Barbara of Cordova; a sister, Laura F. Perry of Easton; a half-sister, Paula Kougoures and her husband, Stephen of Chester; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Easton. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to Shannon's high school, The Loyola Fund, Loyola Blakefield High School, in memory of Lawrence Richard Perry Jr., 500 Chestnut Ave., Towson, MD 21204 or Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton.
