The annual event has grown year by year, and now includes not only flying kites, but also rides and vendors’ tents. Children and adults also greeted two penguins on display by staff from the Baltimore Zoo. While some folks brought their own small kites, others arrived with large, complex examples. Some were shaped like animals or cartoon characters. The largest ones were more like balloons - they filled with wind, but required the help of smaller, more traditional kites tethered above that hauled them skyward.
