PARSONSBURG - Kenneth J. Lecates Sr. died Mon., May 25, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Center in Salisbury. He was born March 5, 1944 in Delmar, a son of the late Oliver J. Lecates and Gertrude Robinson Lecates. He was a founding member and president of the King's Ambassadors, a Southern Gospel singing group, and loved singing for the Lord. He was a faithful member of Delmar Wesleyan Church. He retired as warehouse manager of Interstate Battery Systems of Delmar in 2010 due to his health. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia A. Lecates; two children, Claudine Adams and her husband, Frank, of Forest Hill, Md., and Kenneth J. Lecates II of Emmaus, Pa.; two sisters, Lois Twilley of Fenwick Island and Carolyn Parks of Warrenton, Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane A. Lecates and his brother, the Rev. Bruce Lecates. A funeral service was held on Thurs., May 28, 2015, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment followed at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
