Kay Frances Robinson

CRAPO - Kay Frances Robinson died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at UMSMC at Dorchester. Born Mar. 22, 1937 in Robbins, she was the daughter of the late James Washington Robbins and Olga Mae Meredith Wallace.
She was the first female route driver for the US Postal Service, retiring after thirty years as Postmaster in Crapo. As her family grew, she enjoyed watching her boys and grandchildren play ball. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed playing at several different fire companies. She even celebrated her eightieth birthday, playing bingo winning several times. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cambridge.
She is survived by a daughter, Patti R. Dudley and her companion, Bobby Kraus of Easton; three sons, James S. "Jamie" Robinson, Jr. of Cambridge and daughter-in-law Margaret Robinson of Church Creek, Robert "Jeff" Robinson, Sr. and wife Kathy of Crapo, and Scott M. Robinson, Sr. and wife Lisa of Cambridge; eight grandchildren, Jeff Robinson, Jr. (Amanda), Dani Willey (Michael), Samantha Robinson, Roe Dudley (Jess), Stephanie Dudley, Deanna Travis (Mike), Scottie Robinson, Jr. (Sarah), and Kati Ashton (Jeremy); ten greatgrandchildren, Emma, Kaylee, and Jeffrey III Robinson, Mackenzie, Madison, and Michael III Willey, Lily and Luke Dudley, Scott III and "New Baby" Robinson; and a sister, Lula Darlene Moore of Hurlock.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Robinson, Sr.; a brother, James Washington Robbins; a sister, Jean Newcomb; and her stepfather, Ralph Wallace.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Beulah. Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiated. There was no public viewing.
Jeff Robinson, Jr., Scottie Robinson, Jr., Roe Dudley, Mike Willey, Jr., Jeremy Ashton, Mike Travis, and Bobby Kraus served as pallbearers.
Donations in memory of Mrs. Robinson may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Shore Regional Office, 909 Progress Circle, Suite 400, Salisbury MD 21804.
Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
