CAMBRIDGE - Kathleen Washington, 72 of Cambridge, departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008 at Mallard Bay Care Center.

She was born April 9, 1935 in Hamlet, N.C., daughter of the late Viola Jackson and Hezekiah McNair.

Mrs. Washington was educated in the public schools of Baltimore and a graduate of Dunbar High School, Baltimore. She was employed as seamstress for Rob Roy.

She was a member of Refuge Temple Church of God. Mrs. Washington was a quiet person who loved to be with her family especially her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Debra Washington (Baltimore), Carletta Washington, Patricia Washington, Lory Ann Washington, Ray Washington (Tammy), Walter McNair (Brenda) all of Cambridge, Gary McNair Sr. (California) and Cowanda Willis (Salisbury); grandchildren, Mykia Manokey, Kito McCoy, Cierra Jenkins, Ishekia Beckett, Ray Washington, Jr., ShaRay Washington, Gary McNair, Jr., Latasha Rosemond, Walter McNair, Jr., Lillian McNair, Tia McNair and Clarence McNair, Jr.; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Hoffman Rollins (North Carolina) and Lena Felder (Baltimore); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a special niece and friend, Elizabeth Gladden and other friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clarence McNair, and four brothers, Stant McNair, Isacc McNair, Cleophus McNair and Sid Berry.

Funeral services were held Sunday 2 p.m. at Refuge Temple Church of God, Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery.
