Katherine "Kitty" Ida Larmore
CAMBRIDGE - Katherine "Kitty" Ida Larmore, 99, formerly of Mardela Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at the home of Cheryl Hazeltine in Cambridge, where she has resided the last 2 ½ years.
Born in Portland, Ore., she was the daughter of the late James Clemmons and Doratha Clemmens.
She was a member of the Mardela Fire Department Ladies Auxillary for 33 years, the Fleet Reserve Association since 1948, an honorary member of the Linkwood Fire Department, and a charter member of the Countryside Christian Church. In February, she went to Disney World and actually went on a few rides. She loved her family and was an avid bingo player. She was also a distant relative of Mark Twain.
Mrs. Larmore is survived by her children, James William Larmore and his wife, Ruth of Mardela, Margie Jane Anderson and her husband, Alonza of Ocean City, a stepson, Jack Larmore and his wife, Jean of Edmonds, Wash.; grandchildren, Curtis Leroy Larmore and his wife, Stephanie and Andrew Larmore and his wife, Tina, all of Salisbury, Douglas Larmore and his wife, Peggy of Easton, Matthew Larmore and his wife, Melissa of Trappe, Laura Atkinson and her husband, Jeff of Ocean City, and Judy Anderson of Gastonia, N.C.; great- grandchildren, Whitney Wimbrow, Anna Larmore, Tasha Haddeway and Donnie Coleman; great-great-grandchild, Skylar Wayne Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee Larmore in 1972; a daughter, Laura Ann Zakel and siblings, Dorothy, Al, Tommy and Myra.
Her wishes were to have her body donated to the Maryland Anatomy Board. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the Countryside Christian Church, 5333 Austin Road in Cambridge, with the Rev. Dave Bennett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Department or the Linkwood Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home PA, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury.
