She was born in Oshkosh, Wis., to Lloyd and Anna Elliott on Sept. 12, 1926. She married James Lawson of Griffins Neck, and returned with him to Maryland to raise her family.
Mrs. Lawson worked in food service most of her life and she was happiest in the kitchen. She was a chef in Texas, Florida and Ocean City, which was her favorite location.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Miller and Janice Ross, both of Salisbury and Bobbi Miller of Rhome, Texas. Also surviving is a sister, Velma Spencer Hughes of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
At her request, she will be cremated. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, at 4 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 1308 Westchester St., Salisbury.
Contributions may be made in her name to The American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801 or to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
