Dr. Emma Pinkett is taking charge at The Judy Center.

CAMBRIDGE — The Judy Center at Sandy Hill is welcoming a new coordinator this school year, Dr. Emma Pinkett. Dr. Pinkett, formerly known as Choptank Elementary’s principal, is taking her newly-earned doctorate along with her 25 years of experience in Dorchester County Public Schools to The Judy Center, allowing the littlest learners to benefit from her expertise.

Previously an elementary teacher, assistant principal, and principal, Dr. Pinkett said, “All children can learn but at different paces. We have to give them the space and time to learn.”

Although Judy Center activities will necessarily look different than previous years,
Dr. Pinkett says she is determined to “learn what I need to know to take The Judy Center to the next level.”

The Judy Center is a facility where community-based agencies and organizations collaborate under the same roof to serve children and their families, with education as well as family support and health programs.
It is located at 1405 Glasgow St., Cambridge.

To reach the center, call 410-221-5268, or visit dcps.k12.md.us/schools/elementary-schools/the-judy-center.
A statement from the schools said, “Welcome to The Judy Center and your new challenge, Dr. Pinkett!”
