Joyce Elistine Browne

MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Joyce Elistine (Howard) Browne, of Mt Airy, passed away, Fri., Jan. 14, 2011, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Crisfield, Md., the daughter of the late Harold Howard Sr. and Lutisha (Marshall) Howard. Mrs. Browne was a Program Manager for Cancer Research at the National Institute of Health. She enjoyed Knitting and was a member of the Mt. Airy Knitters, She was a volunteer at Frederick Memorial Hospital and Head Clan Mother of the Pocomoke Indian People. She is survived by her husband, Edward P. Browne; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Amy Cornett of Martinsburg, W.Va; daughter, Sandy Cornett of Fla; step-children, Jason Snyder of Rockville, Ed and Christine Browne of Zion, ILL; grandchildren, Randy Snowman, Jr., Timothy and Thomas Browne, and Ethan Cornett. Funeral Services were held on Jan. 19, 2011, at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784, The Rev. Dennis Yocum of Calvary U.M. Church in Mt. Airy Officiated. Interment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD. Those desiring, may make contributions to: Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 811 W.
