SHARPTOWN - John Robert Lynch died on Sunday, Mar. 22, 2015, at his home. Born in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of the late John Henry and Anna Kumza Lynch. He spent his entire career serving in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Coast Guard until his retirement in 1974. He was a longtime volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the BPOE and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Marie McCarthy Lynch of Charleston, S.C.; six children, John Lynch of Somersworth, N.H., Kelly Lynch of Houston, Texas, Justin Lynch of Whitehouse, Texas, Seamus Lynch of Sharptown, Patrick Lynch of Monterey, Calif., and Casey Lynch of Elloree, S.C.; and three grandchildren. A graveside memorial service was held Fri., Mar. 27, 2015, at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. A celebration of life was held at the Sharptown American Legion following the service. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
