Joanne Taylor, 86
SALISBURY - Joanne Taylor died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Laurel, she was a daughter of the late George Marvel and Sadie Marvel.
After graduating from high school, she was a homemaker for several years before beginning work as an Office Assistant in the Finance Department of the Wicomico County government. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Salisbury Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Quota Club of Salisbury.
She is survived by her nieces, Melissa Widgeon, Cindy Whetzel, Karen Murray, Gail McDonald, Debbie Neubert and Karen Hearne; and nephews, Shawn Widgeon, Mark Widgeon, Eugene Taylor and Jeff Phillips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Taylor; her birth father, who passed away when she was an infant, Girtha Johnson; her son, Michael L. Taylor; her twin sons, Donald and David Taylor; and her sisters, Connie Hudson and Judy Widgeon.
A graveside services will be held at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at 2 p.m.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
