NOTTINGHAM - James W. Pritchett Jr., 59, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008.

He was born in Cambridge on July 30, 1948 and was a son of Eula Jones Pritchett and the late James W. Pritchett Sr.

He attended schools in Cambridge and in Church Creek. On Dec. 28, 1970 he was married to the former Nancy Wilson. Nancy passed away on Aug. 19, 2004.

As a young man he worked coppering boats. Jim worked as an automobile mechanic for most of his life and had worked for Sam Adkins and later for Tony Handley and Richard Thurman before opening his own auto repair shop which he operated for about 10 years.

Jim was very interested in cars and had built race engines, restoring automobiles and was also involved with demolition derbies. He had enjoyed goose hunting, fishing and his pets.

He had been in failing health for several years when he passed away on Tuesday morning.

Survivors include a daughter, Crystal D. Liberto and her husband, Jason Liberto of Baltimore; one son, James W. Pritchett III and his wife, Patty Pritchett of Linkwood; three grandchildren, Nicholas W. Pritchett of Linkwood, Brevon R. Liberto and Brianna R. Liberto all of Baltimore; his mother, Eula Pritchett of Cambridge; two sisters, Saundra Lee Parks and her husband, Benjamin Parks of Cambridge, Kimberly D. Insley and her husband, John O'Neill Insley of Cambridge; one brother, Gary S. Pritchett and his wife, Cindy of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge at 1 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. Lloyd Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bryant, John O'Neil Insley, Ricky Moore, Gary S. Pritchett, Benjamin Parks and Benny Parks.
