EDEN - James Ross Abbott, 71, of Eden, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Salisbury, a son of the late Reginald and Louise Muir Abbott. He served in the U.S. Navy and spent many years as an auto body technician for White's Used Cars in Fruitland. He was a member of the Delmarva Van Club, American Legion Post 64 in Salisbury, and the Redmen Lodge in Fruitland. He is survived by his children, Timothy Lee Spicer of Greenwood, Leslie Dawn Klekotka of Mardela Springs, Lisa Torres of Dowes, Iowa, Brian Keith Spicer of Delmar, and Ross Wendell Abbott of Delmar; 20 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Regina McGriff of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brent Spicer; and two brothers, Jerry Abbott and Ronald E. Abbott. A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment with military honors followed at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
