Jack J. Booze

BETHEL, Del - Jack J. Boozepassed away on Thursday, Jun. 8, 2017, at the Manor House in Seaford, Del. surrounded by his loving family.
Born at Church Creek in Dorchester County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Lydia McGee Booze.
A few years after high school graduation, Jack joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Korean War. Afterwards, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve retiring in 1960. Mr. Booze worked in field maintenance as a mechanic at the Seaford DuPont plant for 38 years retiring in 1993. An avid singer, he sang in the choir at Sailor's Bethel U.M. Church where he attended. An artist and craftsman, Jack enjoyed doing freehand artwork painting and woodworking having made the collection of Noah's Ark animals by hand. He also loved doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, camping with family and being a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Shop in Laurel. He had been a tremendous care giver to his wife, Judy.
In addition to his wife, Judy, whom he married in 1976, Jack is survived by two daughters, Jacqui Moreno of Alamogordo, N.M. and Lesley Yarmola of Millsboro, Del.; twp stepsons, Harold Meyers of New York and Peter Meyers of Lincoln, Del.; a brother, Leslie Booze of Cambridge; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Oscar, Frederick and Dwight Booze; and a sister, Rebecca Booze.
Funeral Services will be held at the Sailor's Bethel U.M. Church, Bethel, on Wednesday, Jun. 14, 2017, at 1 p.m. Pastor Bill Nack will officiate. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Bethel Community Cemetery.
