CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-based Waddell Foundation became the first donor to IRONClub Maryland in 2015 at the “triathlete” level. Their $2,000 donation will help support this year’s IRONMAN Maryland triathlon on Oct. 3. The triathlon, which made its debut in Dorchester County last year, has already sold out for 2015, with more than 2,000 triathlete slots filled. IRONClub Maryland is the booster club for the 140.6-mile triathlon, which generated an estimated $3.41 million economic impact on the region in 2014. In 2015, IRONClub Maryland is looking for additional supporters to cover the $100,000 licensing fee, as well as volunteers to help with the event. Find out more at IRONClubMD.com.
