BALTIMORE - Inez Amelia Hollis, 83, a longtime resident of Baltimore, died on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, after a relatively brief illness.
Born in Vienna, on Oct. 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Eli "Boss" Hollis and the late Millie Pinkett Hollis, she attended school in Dorchester County.
In the 1940s, she married James A. Jackson of Reids Grove, but left Vienna and moved to Baltimore in the early fifties, remaining there for the remainder of her life. In 1960, she married Roger Scott of Baltimore and devoted her life to being a housewife and raising a family of three children.
She was preceded in death by four siblings: William Harvey Molock (1985) and Elizabeth Jones (1996) of Baltimore; Burney Hollis Sr. (2003) of Vienna and Selena Pinder (2004) of Linkwood.
Survivors include her three children, Eric Devon Jackson Sr., Sheila Denise Scott and Rodney Darnell Scott; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Jackson (all of Baltimore); two sisters, Valerie Demby and Marie Fisher (both of Cambridge); three grandchildren, Eric D. Jackson Jr., Kevin G. Jackson Sr., and Patrick Jackson (all of Baltimore); two great-grandchildren, Kevin G. Jackson Jr. and Kayla Jackson (both of Baltimore) and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Wesley United Methodist Church 4904 Old U.S. 50 in Vienna. There will be no public viewing.
