NEWTOWN-GREENSBORO - Ida Lee W. Smith, 73, passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008 at Easton Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1934 to the late Morris Skinner and the late Elizabeth Harris.

She was a member to New Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Cordova and also Abrams Memorial Church in Denton and New Hope Baptist Church in Ridgely. She also enjoyed attending the Adult Day Care Center in Denton.

In her early years she attended Newton School then later graduated from Moton High School. She worked as a day care provider.

She served on the choir and was a Sunday school teacher aide. She loved to sing and loved for anyone to sing gospel to her. Ida would bring her children and granddaughter, Kim, whom she raised to church every Sunday morning and afternoon service.

Mom Ida Lee is survived by three daughters; Earlene Watkins of Denton, Rosita W. Thompson of Cambridge and Patrina W. Williams of Chester; two sons; Epiphany Wilkins of Cambridge, Avery L. Robinson of Westover; a stepson, Andrew Kane of Trappe; two daughters-in-law; Jackie R. Wilmer of Denver, Colo. and Rochell W. Robinson of Chestertown; 2 sons-in-law; Fred Thompson III of Cambridge, and Guy Williams of Chester; her caregivers Guy and Patsy Pearson and their son, Daron as one of her grandchildren; 12 grandchildren; Kimberly Wilkins of Cambridge, Keana Watkins of Easton, Shane Watkins of Denton, Frederick Thompson of Cambridge, Tylicia Bolden (Dontri) of Federalsburg, Tranisha Courtney of Chester, Latoya Franklin (James) of Ridgely, Teisha Robinson of Denver, Colo., Azia and Kayal Shazier of Denver, Colo., Joshua Wilkins, of Snow Hill and Alea Robinson of Chestertown; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three sisters; Florence Brown, Catherine Brown and Elanore Green, all of Chester; two brothers-in-law, Delmar Brown and James Green both of Chester and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Edward Harris; husband, Edward Smith; a son, Wilson D. Wilmer, Wilson and Helen Wilmer whom raised her as their own; a brother-in-law, Leslie Brown; grandparents, Tilghman and Lizzie Mouday and a great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at The International House of Worship (corner of Glebe Rd. and Hollyday St.) in Easton. Burial will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Beulah.

A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Easton.
