CAMBRIDGE – The Annual High Street Hot Sauce & Oyster Fest brings oysters, music, childrens entertainment and fun to downtown Cambridge on Oct. 8.
Crabi Gras sponsors this fast-growing Shore tradition with a wide variety of Chesapeake Bay Oysters, hundreds of Unique Hot Sauces and great music by Bird Dog & the Road Kings and the World Famous “Shuck, Sauce, & Slurp” Oyster Eating Triathlon.
Sweet bivalves from the Bay and hot capsaicin from chili peppers will rule the day at this Dorchester County Festival! The oysters will be prepared however you like — raw, fried, oyster tacos, oyster stew. “Every year we try to best ourselves with the quality and uniqueness of the disses offered at the festival,” said Chef Patrick Fanning of the High Spot. “This year is no different. You won’t be disappointed.”
Wild and Farmed Oysters will be the biggest attraction of the day. Held on Historic High Street (in front of The High Spot) in downtown Cambridge, the event features music, food, libations, and a bottomless supply of the title attractions! Hamburgers, hot dogs, and other tasty delights will also be on the menu. The event begins at 1 p.m. and ends around 6ish!
Crabi Gras is organizing the event. Owner Keith Graffius has announced that Bird Dog & The Road Kings will be making their annual return to the festival. “We don’t even think about bringing in another band for this event. They are as much a part of this event and the Shore as the Oysters!”
The Festival will also feature the “Shuck, Sauce & Slurp” Triathlon at 4 p.m. You may sign up in advance at the High Spot or day of the event. Competition is limited to 10 Teams, three members per team. $50 Registration Fee.
There will be many children activities available. The Festival is a ticketed event. Your $5 admission helps support the nonprofit Cambridge Main Street.
