LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dylan Raiola passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns after star Oregon quarterback Dante Moore’s frightening injury, leading the 20th-ranked Ducks to a stirring 41-27 victory over No. 12 Southern California. Moore left the Coliseum field in an ambulance in the second quarter after USC linebacker Desman Stephens hit him late in a slide. Former Nebraska starter Raiola threw a 3-yard TD pass to Evan Stewart on his second snap. He then led the Ducks on four touchdown drives in the second half, capped by Jordon Davison’s clinching 2-yard run with 2:03 left.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Oregon quarterback Dante Moore left the Coliseum field in an ambulance and wearing a neck brace after the Heisman Trophy candidate was hit roughly by Southern California linebacker Desman Stephens during a slide in the second quarter. Stephens’ hit resulted in his ejection and sparked a melee on the field while Moore was receiving immediate medical attention. The Ducks quarterback is an expected high pick in the next NFL draft. Oregon beat USC 41-27, and the Ducks were thrilled about an important win while also concerned about Moore and furious at Stephens.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jeremiah Smith has made history for Ohio State with a standout performance against Illinois. The wide receiver became the first in Buckeyes' history to have double-digit receptions for at least 200 yards and score four touchdowns. On Saturday, Smith caught 12 passes for 217 yards, and his four TDs tied a school record. Coach Ryan Day praised Smith's improvement, especially in yards after the catch. Smith's performance has put him among the national leaders, with 33 catches for 617 yards and seven touchdowns. He's emerging as a Heisman Trophy contender.

SEATTLE (AP) — Drake Lindsey tossed three touchdowns in the first half to three different receivers and Minnesota defeated Washington 27-24. Lindsey completed his first eight passes and finished 21 for 29 for 204 yards. He found seven different receivers with Javon Tracy grabbing seven receptions for 41 yards and a score. Lindsey, who threw three first-half touchdowns for the first time in his career, found Quayd Hendryx in the back corner of the end zone for a 15-yard score to put the Gophers (3-1) up 7-0. He made another excellent throw just beyond the reach of a Washington defender for a 9-yard score to Jalen Smith to put Minnesota up 14-0. Washington’s Demond Williams Jr. was 17-for-27 passing for 207 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Hank Brown threw a game-ending, 16-yard touchdown pass to Reece Vander Zee to lift No. 17 Iowa to a 20-19 win over No. 18 Michigan on Saturday. The Hawkeyes went 91 yards on the final drive boosted by an unnecessary roughness penalty against Michigan on a third down at midfield. Bryce Underwood threw a go-ahead, 49-yard touchdown pass to JJ Buchanan early in the fourth quarter, but the Wolverines could not make enough plays on both sides of the ball to hold on for the win.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Colton Joseph hit Jacob Harris on a 72-yard touchdown pass with 1:13 to play and Wisconsin scored twice in last four minutes to beat No. 13 Penn State 24-20. Joseph, who threw a pair of costly interceptions earlier in the game, rebounded to lead two long scoring drives for the Badgers (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten), who snapped their six-game losing streak to Penn State. Wisconsin earned its first road win against a ranked opponent since beating No. 25 Purdue on Oct. 23, 2021. Penn State quarterback Rocco Becht, who was 12-for-29 passing for 129 yards and an interception, tossed a final deep ball out of the back of the end zone as time expired, setting off a celebration for Wisconsin defenders.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Jeremiah Smith tied an Ohio State single-game record with four touchdown catches and also had career highs with 12 receptions for 217 yards as the seventh-ranked Buckeyes defeated Illinois 42-19. It is the fifth time an Ohio State receiver has had four touchdowns. The last time it happened before Saturday was Noah Brown at Oklahoma in 2016. It also tied for the sixth-most receiving yards in an OSU game and tied for sixth-most receptions.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — CJ Carr threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score, linebacker Drayk Bowen scored his first career TD on a 15-yard fumble return and No. 3 Notre Dame beat Purdue 49-10. Carr was 14 of 22 for 237 yards and threw his first interception of the season. It’s the second straight week Carr has had a TD pass and a TD run in the same game. Aneyas Williams carried 14 times for 80 yards with one TD as the Fighting Irish produced a season-high 177 yards rushing. Notre Dame has won 14 straight and will start October with a perfect record for the first time since 2021.
