CAMBRIDGE - Helen Selena Stanley, 80, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Easton.
She was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Smithville, daughter of the late Frederick Cornish and Daisy Cornish.
Mrs. Stanley attended the public schools of Dorchester County and worked within the seafood and canning industry until her retirement.
She was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, now referred to as New Revived United Methodist Church in Smithville where she was an active member in the choir, Pink Carnation Club and Women's Society.
Her hobbies included solving word puzzles and babysitting children in the community.
Mrs. Stanley is survived by a sister, Isabelle Keene of Madison; two nephews, Johnnie Cornish of Cambridge) and James Ray Travers of Seaford, Del., and a number of great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leroy Stanley; sisters, Sophie Travers, Emma Cornish, Mary Cornish and Annie Ward and a brother, Charles Cornish.
Services will be held at noon on Friday, at New Revived UM Church with the Rev. Jerome Tilghman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services.
