CAMBRIDGE - Helen L. Shenk, 95, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Dorchester General Hospital.

She was born in Bristersburg, Va. on Nov. 14, 1911 and was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Ruffner Bell.

Mrs. Shenk attended school in Virginia and attended three years of business school in Washington, D.C. On Dec. 30, 1928 she married Floyd E. Shenk who passed away on March 14, 1992. She and her husband owned and operated Shenk's Market in Hurlock and also operated Helen Lee Gift Shop. Some of her hobbies were reading, needle point and making crafts.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Shenk was preceded in death by four sisters, Jessie Feaga, Pauline Quinn, Lucille Bundick and Mary Harding.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, at Unity Washington United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bonnie Shively officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
