EDEN, Md. — The Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center will host its 13th annual Get Outdoors Day from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
This event encourages active outdoor fun and is free to attend, thanks to the Hazel Farm Property Foundation. Exhibitors from local outdoor organizations, parks and museums will team up at the center to offer hands-on outdoor experiences for families.
The main goals of the day are to reach underserved populations and to reconnect youth to nature. Kids can participate in and learn about archery, firearm safety, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking and more. Parents can learn about organizations that help kids develop safe habits while exploring Delmarva’s outdoors.
Cinch sacks with the HODC logo will be provided to the first 400 kids. A free hot dog will be available for all attendees, with water and soft drinks donated by Pepsi Bottling Ventures.
