SALISBURY - Harry S. Hoffman died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Harry and Evelyn Buckman Hoffman. He attended schools in Yardley, Pa., and upon his graduation entered the U.S. Navy, where he served as in World War II. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Class of 1947, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1986, he retired from IBM after 35 years of service, where he received a number of patents. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Brackett and Sharon Trombini, both of Salisbury, and Marilyn Green of Rockville, Md.; three sons, William Hoffman of Casper, Wyo., Robert Hoffman of Richmond, Texas and James Hoffman of Oklahoma City; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Tallman Hoffman. A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment was at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Yardley, Pa.
