Harold Hampshire

SALISBURY - Harold Wallace Hampshire died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at the John B. Parsons Home. Born in Delmar, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Gertrude Hampshire. He grew up on a dairy farm and bottled milk under the name of Haroldine Dairy. He worked as a surveyor for over 60 years with Hampshire, Hampshire and Andrews Surveying, retiring in 2005. He was the oldest working surveyor in the State of Maryland and the first president of the Eastern Shore Society of Surveyors. He was a US Navy veteran where he flew a Navy Avenger Torpedo Plane and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He is survived by two children, Lynda H. Andrews and Doug H. Hampshire Sr., both of Salisbury; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Anna Whayland Hampshire in 2007; and three siblings, Marylouise Scott, Ruth Hopkins and Donald Hampshire. A memorial service was held on Aug. 10, 2015, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Interment was at Wicomico Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
