Harold George Lindale, 79
CRISFIELD - Harold George Lindale, 79, a Crisfield resident since 1954, formerly of Harrington, Del., died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at his home.
Born in Frederica, Del., on July 29, 1927, he was the son of the late George Edward and Ruth Reynolds Lindale.
A retired Trouble In Service employee with Delmarva Power, he was a member of Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Chesapeake Masonic Lodge No. 147 AF & AM where he was Past Master for many years, the former Chesapeake Chapter No. 28 Order of Eastern Star where he was Past Patron, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Boumi Temple, and the Somerset County Chapter of AARP.
He was an avid camper, and enjoyed volunteering and helping others.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Aptt Lindale of Crisfield; two children, Jean L. Service and her husband Tom of St. Petersburg, Florida and Mike Lindale and his wife Debbie of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren, Dawn Martin, Jennifer Service, Michael Lindale and Matthew Lindale; two great-granddaughters, Mikayla King and Gracie Martin; one sister, Virginia Clendaniel and her husband Calvin of Lincoln, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in deatth by a sister, Esther Lindale.
Funeral services and a Masonic Memorial Service were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield. The Revs. Steve Willing and Charles Adams officiated, and the Rev. Tom Blakelock gave the eulogy. There was no public viewing.
Burial took place in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milford, Delaware. The Rev. Earl Baker officiated.
