Gwendolyn Whaley Watson

Gwendolyn Whaley Watson, 59, of Salisbury went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury on February 17, 1955 she was the daughter of the late James and Jeanette (Ringgold) Whaley. Gwen was a member of the Open Door Christian Community Ministries serving as President of the Usher Board, President on the Trustee Board and Assistant Treasurer. She worked for many years at Campbell Soup Company. She is survived by her children, Dwight Whaley, Shaunte Jones and David Jones; step children, Jessica Watson, Jermaine Watson, April Greene and Jimmy Watson Jr.; twelve grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ringgold, Wayne Ringgold and his wife, Martha and Gregory Whaley and an adopted brother, Ronnie Perry. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memory. Donations may be made in her memory to Women Supporting Women or the American Cancer Society.
