CAMBRIDGE - Dorchester Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome Wednesday Morning Artists & Friends for an artful holiday show and sale in the galleries. Opening this Friday, this creative collective will continue through Dec. 23.

Over 20 artists and artisans are showcasing their creativity in a variety of mediums in the "Gallery of Gifts," festively displayed against a backdrop of origami cranes. As of press time, participating artists include Brittany Andrew, Deborah Colborn, John and Maryetta Dynan, Lesley Giles, Jeannette Faber, Maura Manley, Ann Farley, Joyce Fritz Ritz, Windy Karpavage, Theresa Knight McFadden, Peg McCormick, Betty Papson, Wendy Rue, Fran Saunders, Sheryl Southwick, Linda Starling, Sharon Stockley, Diane Stoecker, Marilyn Stone, Susan Tolis, Heidi Wetzel, Terry White, and Paul Winters.

Visitors will find a varied assortment of beautifully handcrafted works for unique gift-giving: wire wrapped jewelry, metal sculptures, kiln-formed glass, paintings and photography, fiber art, mixed media, pottery, wearable art, books and more. Gift purchases give back to both the artist and to the local community, as 35% of the purchase price of every item will benefit public programs at Dorchester Center for the Arts.

Artists’ Opening Reception will be held on Second Saturday, Nov. 11 with live music and holiday treats from 5 – 7 p.m. On Second Saturday Dec. 9, the evening will include an Artists’ Reception and Holiday Choir performance.
