Fred G. Livingood Jr.

SALISBURY - Fred G. Livingood Jr., a former educator in Worcester and Wicomico counties, died Jan. 9, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Myerstown, Pa., he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Frederick Livingood. He graduated from Washington College in 1947 and received his Master's in Education from Harvard University. He taught senior high school science and mathematics in Baltimore County, was Supervisor of Instruction in Worcester County and held numerous administrative positions in Wicomico County. He retired as Assistant Superintendent of Wicomico County Schools in 1988. He was a former president of the Wicomico County Chapter of AARP and a member of St. Francis de Sales Church of Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Clara S. Livingood; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Dr. John K. Livingood. He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca L. Mumford of Salisbury; a son, Frederick "Rick" G. Livingood III, currently residing in Shanghai, China; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018. Burial was at Wicomico Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
