SALISBURY - Frances Shockley Mitchell died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at her home with her children by her side. Born in Snow Hill, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Naomi Figgs Shockley. She worked on the farm and with he late husband, tending to the family produce stand on Johnson Road. She attended Mount Olive United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Nancy Shields of Del Rio, Texas, Judy M. Taylor of Laurel, Roger Lee Mitchell of Salisbury and Brenda Seaton of Salisbury; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Lee Mitchell; and her siblings, John, James and Luke Shockley, Ethel Watson, Katie McGrath, Mildred Pusey, Marg Twigg and Louise Pusey. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Mitchell Cemetery in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
