CAMBRIDGE — The annual fly-in will be held May 16 at the air strip located on the campus of The University of Maryland School of Environmental Studies at Horn Point.

This is in reality a step back into time to revisit some of the wonderful flying machines of the past.

Last year for example, you could see, feel, touch and hear the “Fairchild,” a beautiful flying machine of a gone by era. There were only 39 of these planes built and there are only two in existence today. You could see its interior, beautiful controls, the piston driven engine and wicker chair seats.

This was only one of many on display that day. It’s as if a flying museum is here with attractions for all ages.

While there you can also enjoy hot and cold refreshments sold by the Dorchester Ruritan Club, whose motto is “Neighbors helping Neighbors.”

The public is invited to come and bring the children and enjoy the day. Admission is free.
