DOVER, Del. - Florence E. Beall, 77, formerly of Cambridge, Md., died April 19, 2007, in her home.
Mrs. Beall was born on April 5, 1930, in Laurel, daughter of the late John and Florence Barnes Castle.
She had been a U.S. Marine, achieving the rank of corporal. She had lived in Howard County, Md., moved to Cambridge in 1980 and since September 2004 had lived in Dover.
Mrs. Beall was a member of the Women's Marine Association. She enjoyed dancing, quilting, knitting and traveling, but above all her family.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Richard Castle, and two sisters, Marjorie Barton and Ethel Cushing.
Mrs. Beall is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard "Jerry" Beall; two daughters, Deborah "Gail" Latta of Oxford, N.C., and Amy Kathleen Griffith and her husband, Jim of Queen Anne; two sons, Andrew F. Beall and his wife, Sue, of Columbia, and Jeffery P. Beall and his wife, Karen, of Centreville; a brother, Jack Castle of Laurel, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Melissa Griffith, Daniel Smith, Billie Latta, William Griffith, Tyler Beall, Laura Johnson, Tommy Beall, Sonya Beall and Danny Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Burl and Ivy Latta.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans' Cemetery, Bear, Del.
