CAMBRIDGE — Honor your Hero with a flag flying over the Choptank River. From May 23 through June 14 the Cambridge Rotary and the Cambridge Rotary Community Service Foundation will honor your heroes with a display of flags at the top of the hill adjacent to the Dorchester Visitor Center Amphitheater.
Your tax-deducible sponsored flag will greet every visitor coming east over the Senator Frederick C. Malkus Bridge and help show the world that Cambridge and Dorchester County appreciate your heroes’ service.
If your hero is active, retired, MIA or deceased honor them with a flag during this special display period. Your flag will include your name(s) as a flag sponsor along with the name, rank and military branch your hero serves or served in.
Cost of individual sponsorships are $50 per flag, with corporate sponsor levels at: Gold $1,000, Silver $500, Bronze $250. Individual sponsors should include name and rank with some information about your hero (space is limited on your flag plaque).
General donations are appreciated with your flag saying “To All Who Have Served.” Proceeds will benefit veterans like these 2018 recipients: Charlotte Hall Veterans’ Home, Fisher House Foundation, Mid Shore Recovering Veterans’ Group, Handicap Ramps for veterans and spouses and DCT / Vets Medical Transportation Services.
You can pick up a donation form at the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, the Dorchester Banner, and any Cambridge Rotary Club member or on line at www.RotaryFlagsforHeroes.org.
Please make your tax deductible checks payable to Rotary Community Service Foundation “Heroes” and mail to Rotary Club of Cambridge, P.O. Box 703, Cambridge, MD 21613.
