Dozens of families proved it Monday, when they brought their young athletes to the Dorchester Family YMCA to compete in the Firecracker Kids’ Tri, organized by Cambridge Multi-Sport Club. The event featured swimming in the Y’s pool, followed by run and bike courses, all with age-appropriate distances. Registration fees benefit the club’s scholarship program, which supports a student from both of the county’s high schools every year. “A very heartfelt thank you to all of our participants, families and volunteers who came out,” race organizers said on social media.
