The Full Gospel Church at 202 Academy Street in Hurlock suffered major damage after a Wednesday night fire that began in the parsonage and spread to an adjoining building.

The Maryland State Fire Marshall is investigating the scene to determine the cause of the blaze. Scores of firefighters from 8 area fire companies responded to the scene.

The fire was contained before it could spread to the sanctuary, but not before heavy smoke and water damaged the interior.
