Rescue Fire Company’s ladder was deployed during the emergency.[/caption] CAMBRIDGE — Crews from Cambridge Rescue Fire Company (RFC) were joined by firefighters from other departments on July 18, when a blaze broke out at Bay Country Apartments on Leonards Lane. No injuries were reported during the incident. A statement from RFC said Station 1, along with Trappe VFC and Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services (DCEMS) were dispatched for an apartment fire. “DCEMS crews arrived and advised they had smoke and fire showing with the fire advancing through the eaves and into the attic area,” the statement said. “The second alarm was struck, bringing multiple fire companies from Talbot and Dorchester counties.” Engine 1-3 advances lines to the third floor as the effort to extinguish the fire continued. Tower 1-1 and Hurlock VFC Tower 6-1 “checked the roof for extension and assisted with overhaul,” the statement said. Cambridge resident Tybarion Ross-Walters said in a post on social media, “Great job to the men and women of RFC, Trappe, Neck District, East New Market, Oxford, Linkwood-Salem, Hurlock, Church Creek, they risk their lives every day and we greatly appreciate it. Like the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes.” The incident remains under investigation.
