HURLOCK - Evelyn Trice Nichols, 91, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at the Sunrise Senior Living in Charlotte, N.C.
She was born April 4, 1915, in Ellwood, near Hurlock, the daughter of the late Lloyd Nichols Trice and Beulah Bradley Trice.
She married James T. Nichols on Aug. 28, 1939. She worked for the Daily Banner for 32 years in the Circulation Department.
Mrs. Nichols was a member of Unity Washington United Methodist Church where she participated in many church activities. She was a past member of Minerva Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son, James B. Nichols of Cambridge and his wife, Joan; one daughter, Beverly Holland of Charlotte, N.C.; three granddaughters, Kimberly O"Donnell of Charlotte, N.C., Sheryl Andersen of Myrtle Beach, N.C. and Theresa Dykes of Eden; two great-granddaughters, Lauren Haley Dykes of Eden and Ashleigh O"Donnell of Charlotte.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Nichols who died Aug. 6, 2002; two sisters, Bertha T. Harper and Charlotte T. Smith.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. James E. Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Washington Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Nichols, William Harper, James Harper Jr., Patrick O"Donnell, Shannon Dykes and Thomas Kuhn.
Memorial donations may e made to Unity Washington United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 298, Hurlock, MD 21643.
