Ethel Mae Crippen, 54

CAMBRIDGE - Ethel Mae Crippen, of Cambridge, departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at 5:23 a.m. at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, Salisbury, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 54. Ethel was educated in Dorchester County public schools and was a member of the class of 1971. Ethel was employed by J.M. Clayton Seafood Company until her illness. She was preceded in death by her son, Juan Cephas; two brothers, James "Jimmy"Collins, and William "Billy Blue Johnson; her son's father, Larry D. Cephas; her parents, Myrtle Crippen and Lewis Collins; her foster mother, Mary M. Ferby Brisco; a nephew, George R. Collins; and a niece, Yachicia Crippins. She is survived by a sister, Emma Crippen "Bobby"; five brothers, Lewis Crippen, Albert Crippen, Robert Collins, George Collins, and Owen Lee Crippen; nieces, Mary Collins, Vonda Crippen, and Georgetta Collins; and a host of great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, actions and prayers during Aunt Ethel's illness and passing. There have been so many wonderful people who stepped up to help that we couldn't name them all, but you know who you are. Thank you all so much and may God bless you and your families.
