CHEVERLY - Esther Mae Sampson Wilson passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at the Prince George"s County Hospital in Cheverly.

She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Benjamin and Edna Mae Jackson Sampson Sr. She received her education in the public schools of Dorchester County.

At an early age, she worked in several canning factories, along with working at Bumble Bee Seafood, Rob Roy Inc., and Coldwater Seafood until her retirement.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by four sons, James Sharp of Cumberland, Larry Sharp of Mitchells, Va., Leroy Jr. and Angelo Sharp, both of Cambridge; three daughters, Gloria Jean Berry (Henry), Christine and Gwnedolyn Sharp, all of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren, three she raised as her own, JaRonda Sharp of Hurlock, Mar"Shon Jolley and Rah"Kera Sharp, both of Cambridge; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary L. Pinder of Cambridge and Bessie Stewart (Eugene) of La Plata; three brothers, Arthur Sampson (Rosalee), Joe Sampson (Doretha) and Rufus Sampson (Arlette), all of Cambridge; an aunt, Alberta Sharp of Cambridge; a special niece, Constance Elliott and a special cousin, Mary Alice Molock, both of Cambridge; seven sisters-in-law, Janie Bantum, Mary Blake (Nick), Gladys Turner, Berlin Stanford (Melvin), Alice Woodlin (William), Helen Cephas (George), all of Easton and Joyce Flamer (Charles) of Denton; three brothers-in-law, Robert "Sonny" Wilson (Laura) of Trappe, Thomas Lee Wilson (Henrietta) and Wendell Slaughter (Flo), both of Easton; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Wilson; five children, Linda, Phyllis, Melvin, LyCurtis and Bonnie Sharp; and six brothers, Harold Jones, Benjamin Jr., Ernest, Elwood, Wilbur and Johnny Sampson.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Life Christian Church and Ministries, 1007 Phillips St., Cambridge with the Revs. Lemuel and Lavone Chester officiating. Burial will follow in Thompsontown Cemetery.

There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge.
