TOWSON - Elva Murrell Phillips, formerly of Hoopersville, died Wednesday evening, Dec. 13, 2006, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson.
Born on Jan. 23, 1915, in Hoopersville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Julia Murrell.
Mrs. Phillips graduated from Hoopers Island High School. She was a member of Hoopers Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Phillips was the wife of the late Ulman J. Phillips who died on Nov. 26, 1970.
She was the Hoopersville Postmaster for several years, a position her mother had before her.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, watching television and animals.
Mrs. Phillips had resided in Baltimore since September of 2002 to be nearer to her daughter.
Surviving is her daughter, Judy Robbins of Baltimore, several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Sangston Parks.
The family received friends Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., in Cambridge.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Joseph Kelly. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
