SALISBURY - Elmer "Sug" Roland Ennis, 88, of Salisbury, died Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Hebron, he was the son of the late Samuel Wilson Ennis and Georgia Moore Ennis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Elzey Ennis. He attended First Baptist Church of Salisbury. Prior to retiring, he served in the U.S. Navy, and worked at Perdue Farms and Charles W. Ennis Sanitary Service as a truck driver. He is survived by: two daughters, Shirley M. Greene and the Rev. Sandra Nichols, both of Salisbury; two sisters, Esther Jones Mitchell of Quantico and Gloria Price Watson of Salisbury; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Ennis, William Ennis, Edgar Ennis, and Stanley Ennis, and one sister, Charlotte "Lottie" Edwards. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
