Elizabeth Giese Bosse

Elizabeth Giese Bosse, 100

EASTON - Elizabeth G. Bosse passed away on April 22, 2008, two weeks after her 100th birthday.

She was born in Cambridge on April 8, 1908 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Theresia Giese.

Mrs. Bosse grew up on Spring Hill Farm in Dorchester County and attended the local schools. On June 30 1948, she married Paul F. Bosse and moved to Easton where they raised two daughters. Paul Bosse died on March 4, 1968.

Mrs. Bosse was then employed by the Talbot County Board of Education, working in school cafeterias. She loved gardening, cooking and sewing. She was an avid reader with a love of learning.

As an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, an officer in the Ladies Aid and member of the Altar Guild.

Two daughters, Jeanne Hechmer and husband, Patrick of Easton and Ann Shariff and husband, Dr. Mahmood Shariff of Cambridge, survive her. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Shan and Yusuf Shariff of Cambridge. She has one surviving sister, Margaret Asche of Cordova, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Bertha Bradshaw, Emma Saathoff, Louise Giese and a brother, William Giese.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7215 Ocean Gateway, Easton, MD 21601. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery at a later date.
