SALISBURY - Elizabeth Colonna Morris "Betty" Smith, 90, died Friday April 15, 2016, at the Wicomico Nursing Home. A daughter of the late H. Edwin Morris and Grace Colonna Morris, she grew up in Princess Anne and helped her parents at the Morris Clothing and Shoe Store. She studied merchandising at Briar Cliff Manor in New York and graduated in 1945. She married Ted Smith of Allen in 1946 and they became lifelong residents of Salisbury. He died in 1974. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Salisbury and St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Princess Anne. She worked for Benjamin's as a model and marketing associate, was manager of the Bridal Store, and was a salesperson for Bozman's Floor Coverings. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Jane Morris McCoy. She is survived by her son, Hunter, of Hudson, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery.
