CRISFIELD - Eleanor Ann Tawes passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her home after a courageous eight year battle with cancer. Born in Crisfield on January 18, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Charlton and Ethelyn Laird Marshall. She taught first grade in the Somerset County School system for 23 years. She was active in her church, local charities, and many community organizations. Her passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, and spending time with her friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Tull. She is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Marvin H. Tawes; three children, Craig Tawes, Kara Evans and her husband Ronnie, and Kay Tawes; six grandchildren, Ross Evans, Ryan Dodson and his wife Nicole, Dustin Tawes, Brooks Dodson, Alexander Tawes, and Rachael Evans; two great-grandchildren, Jason and Lane; and two sisters, Dolores Hinman and Nina Miles and her husband Glen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Kim Gilson were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Immanuel United Methodist Church, c/o Robert H. Bradshaw, Jr., 306 W.
