ST. MICHAELS - In the infinite wisdom of God, Edwin Lee Bailey, known as "Eddie" was called to eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Howard University Hospital (Washington, DC). He was born on March 1, 1956, son of the late Johnny P. and Agnes M. Bailey. Reared in St. Michaels, Eddie graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1974. He furthered his education at the University of the District of Columbia, where he received an Associate in Applied Science in 1992. For many years, Eddie was employed at the old Woodward and Lothrop Department Store. At the time of his death, he was employed by Maximus-an organization, "Helping the Government Serve the People"-as a Ticket Service Coordinator. Eddie was a longtime member of St. Augustine Catholic Church (Washington, DC). To know Eddie was to know that he was a man of fashion, always well-groomed and handsomely dressed. Although quiet by nature, Eddie was an avid sports enthusiast and a proud and diehard fan of his BELOVED Dallas Cowboys! He absolutely loved music (R&B) and owned a phenomenal and countless collection of dated recordings. Eddie was very family-oriented, always attending family gatherings. We will miss his laughter and gentle spirit. Left to cherish his memories are: a sister, Pamela Bailey-Graham (Willie), St. Michaels; three brothers, Joseph Wayne Wilson (Betty), Cambridge, MD; Anthony P. Bailey, (Washington, DC); Thomas W. Bailey (St. Michaels, MD); two aunts, Mary R. Martin and Gracie I. Wilson (both of St. Michaels, MD); one uncle, Wilbert L. Martin, Sr. (St. Michaels, MD); six nieces, two nephews and a host of loving cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at Union United Methodist Church, 101 North Fremont St., St. Michaels, with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment in the Charles Thomas Memorial Park. Condolences sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
