PITTSVILLE - Edna L. Adkins died Wednesday, Mar. 15, 2017, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Lana Cooper Davis.
She spent 30 years as a seamstress for the Powellville Pants Factory and also worked as a CNA at Berlin Nursing Home. She was a member of Berlin Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Powell, Christine Morris and Sharon White, all of Pittsville, and Cordelia Adkins, of Salisbury; and a son, James Dewey Adkins, of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dewey Adkins; and several brothers and sisters.
A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017, at Pittsville Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
