Edgar "Sam" Malone, 89 ORIOLE - Edgar Samuel "Sam" Malone, 89, a lifelong resident of Oriole, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021. He was a son of the late Della Bloodsworth Wilson and Ed Malone. He graduated from Washington High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy, was stationed in Japan and was honorably discharged in 1957. Upon returning home, he worked for Acme and the Department Of Natural Resources Police, until settling into a long career with Dresser-Wayne in Salisbury, from where he retired. He was a great outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Webster Malone, a son, William "Eddie" Malone; a daughter, Jennifer Malone; a grandson; and a niece. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his sister, Betty Simpkins of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; and two half-brothers, Russell Malone of Allen and Robert Malone of Snow Hill. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne.
