VIENNA - The Nause - Waiwash Band of Indians held their 24th annual Native American Festival on Saturday and Sunday at the ball field in Vienna. The Nause - Waiwash Band is a group of about 300 descendants of the original Nanticoke Indians. On Saturday, NaMaWoChi drums played traditional Native American music and all participants, Native Americans and guests, were invited to dance in peace. A prayer and dance honored U.S. Armed Services and other uniformed service members, their families and friends. Community organizations and vendors offered information, food and wares, a silent auction, demonstrations and a craft and bake sale. (More photos on page 5)
