Dorothy Hughes Wollett, 83
VIENNA - Dorothy Marie Hughes Manning Wollett, 83, died Saturday, may 10, 2008 at the Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Snow Hill.
She was born Jan. 31, 1925 near Vienna to the late Harry and Della Bradley Hughes.
Mrs. Wollett attended school in Vienna. She worked for the Eastern Shore State Hospital in Cambridge where she retired after many years of service. In March 17, 1972 she married Charles "Bert" Wollett and they lived in Annapolis many years until they moved to Vienna. Bert died on Jan. 27, 1990.
She is survived by a sister, Isabelle Davenport and her husband, Paul of Vienna; a stepdaughter, Lynn Wigley of Scottsville, Va.; a stepgranddaughter, Carol Norcross and her husband, Chris and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nephews, Gene and Vaughn Jr. and three nieces, Patsy, Shelley and paula.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Wolff and a brother, Vaughn Hughes.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market where friends may call an hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kim Gilson will officiate. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vienna Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 5, Vienna, MD 21869.
